Central Coffee Co

Description: A locally owned neighborhood coffee shop serving Joe Van Gogh coffee, espresso drinks, chai, cold brew, breakfast items, and handmade pastries, including baklava. The cozy interior features brick walls, a fireplace, wooden tables, and a small amount of indoor seating. Its relaxed, longstanding neighborhood atmosphere makes it a comfortable place to meet with others, read, or settle in with a drink and something from the pastry case.

Comments: Unfinished floors, wooden tables and chairs, peeling light teal brick walls with artwork strewn here and there, a fireplace with books and coffee beans on its ledge, and the pervasive smell of either coffee beans or something else in the building, I don’t really know. But everything about this place screams homey. The only thing I’d add is maybe a couch somewhere, but that’s just nitpicking.

Most of the space is a hallway with 2-person tables along the walls and a larger table at the end. Access to outlets isn’t bad on the right-hand side of that hallway, and I’ve posted up here before to work remotely and seen others do the same. The parking lot is preciously small, I think maybe 4 spots that aren’t handicap spots, but you can drive around the area and try to find street parking if you can’t nab one.

I don’t drink coffee, but I’ve been told it’s good. They have a more expansive hot tea menu than most coffee shops, which I appreciate, plus pastries, albeit no cinnamon rolls, but that’s okay, and some light bites if you’re hungry. I prefer coming here early in the morning to make sure I can find a place to park, then hanging out until the afternoon working remotely and enjoying the vibes. Friendly staff too.
