Description: Your Neighborhood Coffee and Ice Cream shop. Serving Hot and Iced Coffee, 24 flavors of Hersey's Ice Cream. Milkshakes, fresh bakery.
Comments: Very cute place, small and compact interior, but it smells marvelous on account of the ice cream they sell. It's well adorned to be inviting and friendly with cushioned chairs here and there, various antiques like hockey tables and gumball machines, and even a kid's coloring section where they put up drawings.
Even the music they choose to play inside is very bubblegum, ice cream truck, happy, light, and sparkly. Feels like ice cream and happiness. Free Wi-Fi, not the best outlet access but there's a spot or two. There's one outdoor seating table. Lots of ice cream options, coffee, hot tea, but most importantly...
They have cinnamon rolls, and they are unique. It's neither cream cheese frosting nor traditional icing that adorns the roll. Instead, it's this caramely drizzle, I can't even say for sure it's caramel, but that's what stands in the place of the more traditional options. And it's light, the flavor isn't overwhelming, but it's not nonexistent. It's there, just existing to accentuate the flavors of the cinnamon roll without stealing the show. The result is a cinnamon roll where you can truly taste and enjoy the cinnamon.
The icing doesn't overpower it, say for example the way any bottom tier mall variety cinnamon roll does, where they drench it in so much icing that you can't taste anything but gooey bread and sugar. That's not artistry my friends, that's not craftsmanship. Here, they opt for a lighter touch of icing, letting the cinnamon roll as a concept, as a pastry, as a craft, be the main show without distraction. I salute them.
